The Covington-Mandeville Branch of AAUW

The Covington-Mandeville Branch of AAUW was established in 1964. We are located in Southeast Louisiana on the northshore of Lake Pontchartrain with most members living in the communities of St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, and Washington Parishes.

We have a diverse membership with degrees from institutions that are equally diverse. "Full Members" (members with degrees or associate degrees) and "Student Affiliates" (those working toward their 1st degree) are recognized as members at the AAUW state and national levels. But the Covington-Mandeville branch also welcomes "Supporters" who are non-degree participants at the local level.

About AAUW

AAUW

Serving
Women & Girls
Since 1881

The American Association of University Women (AAUW) promotes equity for all women and girls, lifelong education, and positive societal change.

Founded in 1881 by seventeen alumnae of eight colleges, AAUW is the largest, oldest national organization dedicated to the advancement of women and education.

AAUW is divided into two corporations: The Association and The AAUW Educational Foundation. Each has a mission to advance equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy, and research. In addition, The AAUW Legal Advocacy Fund is an important program under The AAUW Educational Foundation which provides funding and a support system for individuals seeking judicial redress for sex discrimination.

The Value of Belonging to AAUW

As an AAUW member, you'll be proud to belong to this nationwide group of people who value education and equal rights, who are contributing to a more promising future for all women and girls, and who together provide a powerful voice for women and girls. This is a voice that cannot and will not be ignored.
